Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Clint had not been feeling well for some time over the past year.  We chalked it up to working tons of hours at his job as an ER nurse.  In May he began having severe abdominal pains.  An ER visit ruled out anything significant.  Two weeks later we were back in the ER. After another CT scan we were informed of a small bowel obstruction and a small mass on the pancreas.  After a week of medical attention and bowel rest, the obstruction was resolved and pancreatic surgery was to be scheduled with John's Hopkins in Baltimore.

That should have been an end to the terrible abdominal pain, but it wasn't. In early July we were back in the ER with severe abdominal pain.  The sixth CT scan showed an abscess and a hole in the small bowel.  He was admitted immediately.  After struggling to find a surgeon brave enough to tackle the difficult surgery, the abscess was removed.  It was found to be the result of a mesh he had implanted following a hernia repair several years ago.  Since that time he has been fighting pain from the surgery, complete bowel rest so the fistula in the small bowel will heal, sepsis, and recurring hospitalization.  After coming home for about 10 days in August, Clint is back in the hospital at this time, now beginning week number four, which brings us to a total of nine weeks in the hospital since June.

He has  not been able to work since mid-June.  His only source of nutrition is via IV due to the damage in the small intestine.  It is believed giving his system this rest from eating will speed the healing of the bowel.  Our family is unified in the trust and belief that Our God is a Healer.  That He has promised to heal Clint completely from this horrible infirmity.  That He already HAS done this in the spiritual realm and we are just awaiting manifestation in the physical! God has been continuing to provide for our family in many, many ways and we are so grateful to Him and those He has used to help us during this difficult time.  We look forward to the day when our testimony is shared happy ending and all!
