Welcome to our CaringBridge website for dear Claudia Dobbs. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place as well share ways you may be able to help Claudia when the time comes. It breaks our hearts to share that Claudia was recently diagnosed with malignant melanoma of the head and neck. To say she was overwhelmed is an understatement. She was referred to the UCSF Melanoma Clinic and is now in the care of leaders in the treatment of this aggressive disease. She will be sharing updates as her treatment plan is developed which will begin in a few weeks. She knows she can fight this and is grateful for all your love, support and words of hope and encouragement.
FROM CLAUDIA: My dear friends! Thank you for coming to this site and sending me your prayers.
Life has taken a different turn for me, one that I know will end up in a place of healing, joy and growth.
Around August 2nd I was diagnosed with a small melanoma on my scalp (7 mm by 0.9 mm deep). Pathology came back as low grade melanoma and on September 28th, my surgeon did a wide excision to remove any remaining cells. About 3 weeks after surgery, a few new things started popping up on my head. My dermatologist believed it was Melanoma in transit which my pathology report supported. My oncologist got me into UCSF Melanoma Clinic quickly this week, for which I’m very grateful. Now my journey begins. Please pray for me and keep me close in your heart.
