As I recently announced on Facebook, I've decided to donate one of my kidneys to an anonymous recipient through a Never Ending Altruistic Donor (NEAD) chain facilitated through the National Kidney Registry. After six months of extensive testing and thorough screening by the amazing medical team at the UCLA Kidney Transplantation Center, my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. As I've received significant interest about this most unique journey, I've created this blog to inform and educate others on my experiences as a live kidney donor.
