Mom has been on a roller coaster these last few months.  As some of you may know, her cancer returned a few months ago now.  She has been in and out of the hospital with complication after complication.  She has been septic more times than we can count, has a pulmonary embolism, other infections, leaking bowels and most recently a second surgery.  Last week mom was told her cancer was back and metastasized to her abdomen.  Dr. Wang brought her back into surgery and seven hours later she came out.  He said she had extensive tumor involvement with it wrapped around an area he could not remove.  He was able to get 90% of tumor but not everything.  He cleaned out her fistula and was able to clean out a lot of the infection.  Mom has been in Boston maybe 15 days this time around, we thought she was going for another simple drain.  I believe she is 5 days post op and mom is still working with doctors to determine next steps.   She is on TPN, has pain pump and wound vac now.  My Mom is the strongest person I know.  Right now we are taking it day by day.  Moms pain is up and down and they are working on managing it.  She will hopefully be meeting with her team today to determine next steps.  Until then we wait, pray and send healing thoughts.  We will post updates on here as we know them, that way I can try to communicate with everyone.  I’m thankful for all the love, care and concern for mom but it’s hard to keep up with daily texts from so many loving caring family, friends, co-workers.  My phone has been dinging hundreds of times a day- that means the world to me that so many people care and love mom.  I will update any new changes on here and keep people in the loop.  Thank you all for sending mom well wishes and the love and support to her and all of us.
