My mom is one of the most beautiful, strong, and brave woman I have ever met.  Unfortunately she needs to be even stronger now than ever and she needs all of you to be strong for her too.  She was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2014 and a year after her radiation treatment, she developed an extremely rare side effect brought on by the treatment.  She received this diagnosis after visiting the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota; The diagnosis being "Radiation Induced Lichen Sclerosis with Morphea" and she is one of sixty cases in the world.  She has been to surgeons, rheumatologists, dermatologists, breast specialists, and wound care specialists.  She has been on several different cocktails of medications and even has participated in 22 dives in a hyperbaric chamber.  After all of this she still doesn't have the pain relief she has been searching for the past three years.  On Wednesday November 30, 2016 she will undergo an extensive surgery to remove the affected breast and to preform a chest wall reconstruction.  The surgery will last approximately seven hours and she will need to stay in the hospital for at least a week.  Her adult, special needs son lives with her and she will need help with him, cleaning, meals, and taking her dog out.  Anything you are able to do to help, even if that's just leaving some words of encouragement, then that is great.  Thank you all for helping in her time of need.
