Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On April 15th, 2020, Chuck was scheduled to have a heart ablation (outpatient) procedure to fix a flutter in his heart at M-Health Fairview Edina Heart Hospital (Edina, MN). He had been having trouble breathing and chest pain for quite a few months. When the doctor arrived to do the procedure he noticed that Chuck was having a lot of trouble breathing - and so he ordered an oxygen test. The numbers were bad enough that they admitted him to the hospital immediately. After 4 days in the hospital and many tests and a CT scan later, they sadly determined that he has Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is present in his lymph nodes, lungs and spleen.

After carefully considering the pros and cons of chemotherapy, Chuck chose not to go that route due to his age (85) and other health issues he's been having over the past several years. Because he wants to have as many quality days as possible in the 3-6 months he has left (according to the oncologist), he chose the hospice route.  He started hospice care with Park Nicollet Hospice on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020, and he is very much at peace with his decision. Thank you all for respecting that decision and supporting him (and us) in his journey. We will absolutely need your strength, prayers and help in the coming months - and we very much appreciate all of the love that has been shown to us thus far.
