On Wednesday December 2 Chuck underwent successful lumbar spine surgery. He was in great spirits post-surgery while he visited with Diane and spoke to his children and grandchildren on the phone. Unfortunately, a little over 24 hours later Chuck's neurological signs shifted and a CT scan showed bleeding in his brain. Following emergency surgery to remove the blood clot, Chuck spent 19 days in the neurological ICU at Duke University Hospital and 7 days in the Neuro step down unit battling back from the hemorrhagic stroke before graduating to an acute rehab facility in Little River, SC. After spending 4 weeks there, Chuck is now finally back at home. Chuck and Diane are blessed to have family and friends eager to offer support and love.
