Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Chuck.  The outpouring of love and support has been wonderful and overwhelming. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Chuck crashed his mountain bike at Whypass near Lorane, OR on Thursday afternoon, July 8, 2021. He was found by other cyclists and helicoptered to Riverbend. He suffered three broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung, a fractured vertebra in his neck, and a brain bleed. Chuck was intubated and sedated on arrival. On Thursday evening, the surgeons put a drain tube in his skull to relieve the pressure.
On Friday, July 9, they discontinued the sedatives, and Chuck is now in a coma.

We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement, because together we are going to bring Chuck back.
