As you may have heard, our dad has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.  Earlier this summer, he started to have some mild stomach problems.  As it progressively got worse he sought the  expertise of his doctor.  Tests determined it was a cancerous mass.   At this point is was difficult for him to eat and keep food down and he was continuing to lose weight.  A decision was made to take him to Mayo in Rochester.  Here they put a stint through the mass hoping he could eat and keep food down.  It did not take and he was taken back to Rochester and has been there since last Monday.  He has received a 2nd stint and IV fluids, this seems to be working at this point.  We are still waiting to determine what stage the cancer is in and what the exact treatment plan will be.  He is in good spirits, has lots of family support, and is ready to fight this!   We will update the journal as we receive new information.   He would love to hear your thoughts and prayers!
