Welcome to the website we've created to keep friends and family updated on Chuck's diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma on May 30th, 2014. We are truly blessed with such amazing family and friends and sincerely appreciate all of your love and support and prayers.  We rest in God knowing He is our Hope and our Salvation.  It's not the journey we would choose, but we will walk it in great confidence and hope, especially in our Lord Jesus who loves us so much.

So lets begin......After a number of months of varying health problems, a number of doctor visits, some very serious back problems and a couple of red herrings to boot Chuck's GP began to suspect there was something more going on.  He took a lot more blood tests and ordered a third CT scan.  As soon as those returned he asked to see Chuck right away and said he saw some abnormal protein numbers and was referring him to a hematologist.  On Friday, May 30th, the hematologist dept called and wanted to see Chuck in a couple of hours.  Needless to say we packed it up and got over there.  Chuck soon had a diagnosis.  He has Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma, which is a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow.  The doctor was very encouraging and though he said this cancer is not cureable it is very treatable and we could expect good results with the treatments.  So.... next step... LOTS more blood work, an MRI, a bone marrow biopsy and getting set up to begin chemo and drug regimine.  More good news.  All of the treatments for now are on an outpatient basis.  So as of Friday June 6th Chuck has begun his new cocktail of chemo.
Doc said in 4-6 weeks we should see marked improvement and he should begin to feel much better.  We're looking forward to that.
