Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
Chris Whitehead or "Whitey" as the rodeo world knows him is in the battle of his life.  After loosing his home and just about everything in the Auburn fire, Chris was diagnosed with Colon Cancer.  They surgically removed a large tumor and a section of his colon and checked a number of lymph nodes.  Cancer did show up in a few.  After recovering he started chemo treatments.  Chris had a good few years with no show of any cancer. But then it returned, back in the colon and very bad.  His entire colon was removed this time.  This was a very long and hard recovery.  Then back on chemo.
After complaining for several months of pain in his abdomen they finally found there to be another tumor that had been missed.  This one was loose in the abdomen but had time to grow for a while being that it was undetected.  The cancer is now found in his liver, lung, and has other floating tumors.
A good friend of Chris's Eric Peterson,  did allot of home work and found an alternative trial treatment that seemed promising.  He and Chris went to San Francisco to meet with Doctors and do testing .  I'm so sad to say it turns out Chris did not qualify for this program due to the stages of his cancers.
I ask that you please lift him and his family up in your thoughts and prayers in this very fragile time.
Thank you for visiting.
