Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Late Tuesday evening, January 2nd, Christy experienced multiple ischemic and bleeding strokes as a result of several blood clots in her legs. Sadly these clots broke free and traveled to her heart, lungs, and brain. The causation of the blood clots found in Christy’s legs is not 100% known. The good news is that her blood was analyzed for underlying conditions/diseases and came out negative .  Christy’s doctors explained that while there are coorelating risk factors, exact causation will never be known.

Since this incident, Christy’s surgeons have been able to remove several of the blood clots in her lungs and extremities. This has slightly improved her lung function and decreased the chance of her losing her limbs.

While Christy has shown minor movements, the full extent of damage to her brain is unknown at this time. We do know there is severe damage already to her cerebellum. Christy remains in critical condition and the primary concern is the swelling and bleeding in the base of her brain. We are devastated yet hopeful   as Christy is receiving exceptional care around the clock.

Our goal of this page is to keep you informed with Christy’s progress. We hope you will post your words of encouragement for Christy to see when she wakes up (and she will since she is a fighter). Finally we encourage you to show your support through Christy’s Go Fund Me site.
