Christopher has been running races competitively for almost a year.  On January 29th, he was running in a 10 mile race.  As he turned at the half-way point, he was struck by a car and suffered serious injuries. Chris has multiple injuries that includes severe head trauma.  Since his arrival in the ER, they have told us that his injury was too severe for him to survive, but he kept battling.  He needed surgery that they told us he would not live through, and if he did, he would not make it through the night.  Despite the gloomy prognosis, he is still fighting and improving each hour.  There is still a long way to go and we ask that you keep him in your prayers.

Chris sustained multiple injuries when he was struck by the car.  He has a broken left leg, a fractured vertebrae in his neck and sever head trauma.  The head injury is by far the most severe of his injuries and the ongoing priority of the medical staff. His treatment is driven to reduce the swelling of his brain to limit the potential for permanent damage.  The first hurdle is to improve his chances of survival and then work to gain full functionality.  He has a long journey ahead of him before we can call him recovered.  We ask that you remember to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
