This week marks the beginning of our family's journey fighting cancer. Chris was diagnosed on September 27th, 2018 with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Health concerns began mid-summer with what we thought was a hernia in his naval, discovering in surgery on 9/13 a "Sister Mary Joseph" nodule. Lab results of the biopsy revealed Adenocarcinoma, glandular type, non-localized on 9/ 21. A PET CT scan revealed the pancreas as the primary source with metastasis to the liver on the 27th. Chemotherapy began on 9/28 with a treatment plan of three week cycles: Chemo on day 1 and 8, then one week off, for 3-4 months. Response to treatment will be assessed by blood work and physical exam with a second PET CT at the end of the program.
