This site was created to share updates with all our friends and family. Chris was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the submandibular salivary gland and surgery to remove the tumor, gland and lymph nodes was done July 31st at University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Biopsy showed cancer spread to the perineural nerves. Six weeks of radiation, 5 days a week to start September 13th. Further testing  showed that the ACC has metastasized to both lungs. Nodules in lungs are small and will be monitored every three months by CT scan.
Chris is a very strong person and loving wife and between the both of us we will beat this cancer together.
We will keep our journal updated as treatments progress.
