On Thursday, April 15, Christine went to the ER with what we thought was a heart issue because she was experiencing shortness of breath upon physical exertion. After being admitted overnight to the ER and undergoing a battery of tests, Chris, the following morning, underwent a stress test and Echocardiogram and passed. However, doctors discovered from her blood work that she had very low hemoglobin levels and issues with her platelet and red & white bloods cell counts. The next week, Christine was referred to Dr. Singh, a Hemoglobin Oncologist, for a bone marrow extraction and was diagnosed with a rare incurable blood cancer called MDS.
