Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Chris Swisher was born Christina Rose DiFlippo in Charleroi, PA.  We cannot provide her birth date as we would be forever grounded, but according to her....she was born in 1994...so let's just leave it at eternally 26!    A true Aries to her core, Chris has always been a determined, confident, optimistic, honest and passionate lady.  Her horoscope also says Aries' "dislike" inactivity, delays and work that doesn't not use one's talents.    We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Chris grew up in Lancaster, OH and married the love of her life on September 5, 1959. Chris and her husband William F. Swisher (1939 -  2011) were blessed with two children who were and still are Chris' entire world.    Chris and William (Bill) raised her young family in Michigan, but Chris, Dea and son Bill came back to Ohio in the  mid 70's, spent some time living in her beloved Florida in the 80's,  but eventually returned to the place she calls home.

Friends know her as Chris, the fiery 110 lb., "call it like it is" owner of the Casa Grande Motel.  Her kids and 99.9% of their friends just know her  as Mom.  She raised her two kids along with dozens of others as we all tramped in and out of her household in our youth... just as we all still do.

Most of you know, in late 2017, Chris was diagnosed with lung cancer.  After valiantly undergoing imuno-therapy and ten rounds of radiation, Chris suffered a heart attack  on November 24, 2019.  One heck of a way to get out of cooking Thanksgiving dinner!  Unfortunately, the heart attack was quickly followed by a series of strokes that landed Chris in the hospital until December 4, 2019.  On December 4, 2019, Chris blissfully came home to the family she so loved and trusted for hospice care.    Her story continues...
