Chris went to the doctors Wednesday, April 26th, 2017. He had been dealing with severe arm pain for about a week. He told Dr. Brandes how he had been feeling and thankfully she ran some blood tests. Unfortunately they didn't like what they saw. On April 27th, Chris was admitted to Regions hospital. It was confirmed by a bone marrow biopsy that he has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. AML for short. Chris received his first chemotherapy treatment on April 29th. He will have seven days of chemotherapy and in a couple of weeks we will know better what other steps we will need to take. As you can imagine we were completely blindsided by this. I suppose everyone in this situation is. We appreciate all prayers for many things; Including for the team of doctors and support staff at Regions. They are amazing. "Team Rachner", family and friends will get the job done. This bump in the road will just be part of our story on this thing we call life. Our love and prayers go out to all of you as well. We know this will affect you too in some way. Let God be your strength as He is ours.

At this time we ask for communication and support through this site as much as possible. You know how it is trying to get rest/sleep in a hospital.??
