Hi all,It’s been over a month since the last update and a lot has changed. &nbsp;I am still recovering from the gastric surgery. Recovering is taking longer than expected as we are trying to get the stomach to start working more functionally. I’m still having a hard time eating so I have lost a lot of weight. I generally consume the total of what would amount to a small happy meal.&nbsp; I am being encouraged to drink a protein shake and drink electrolytes during the day.&nbsp; I have lost over 40lbs, and it shows. I am getting great treatment through the Mayo health system.&nbsp; They truly are thinking of everything to be sure we are checking all the boxes.&nbsp;&nbsp;A few questions that I have been asked quite often:Is it painful? – Yes, quite painful. I am receiving help from Pain &amp; Palliative Care which is focusing on pain &amp; quality of life. I am on around the clock pain meds to help.Is there a cure? - No, not at this time.&nbsp; It is what it is.&nbsp; My pancreas is no longer producing insulin &amp; enzymes to break down food.&nbsp; Processing food through the bypass may get better but I most likely won’t return to eating like a year ago. &nbsp;Are you working? - Yes, and for a great company that provides a lot of support.&nbsp;How many meds do you take in a day? - Too many, between 30-40.&nbsp; I’m getting an insulin pump soon so that will at least lower the pokes in a day.Is there anything that I can do for you? – Yes, keep on praying and thinking of me &amp; my family.&nbsp; It really makes a difference.&nbsp;&nbsp;Take care,Chris
