Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Chris suffered a broken neck and damaged spinal cord on November 20th, 2019 when his riding lawn mower slid and tumbled down two retaining walls.  He has recovered feeling at his chest and arms, and he can move his left wrist.  The healing will continue.  After wonderful care at Mercy St. Louis, he was flown to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado for nationally renowned rehabilitation specialized for his type of injury.

Chris's amazing wife Kathy has been at his side every moment, and continues to live in his hospital room.  Kathy has been trained and certified by the hospital to assist with Chris's needs, and has been his sole support since the flight to Colorado.  Friends and family have travel plans to visit Chris in the near future, and hopefully bring some relief to Kathy as well.

Chris's employer and coworkers of Kelpe Contracting,  and Kathy's employer and coworkers of AMCI Property Management have been generously supportive during this tragedy.

We are working to determine what accommodations must be constructed to Chris and Kathy's house before he can return home at the end of February.

Thank you for visiting our site.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Love, The Lochmanns
