Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Chris. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Chris was diagnosed with cancer after months of Dr. visits and many diagnoses which didn't show any problems.  The cancer, which originated near his colon, spread to his liver, making the cancer Stg IV. His journey started in January of this year. Since that time he has gone through 6 months of chemotherapy, then 6 weeks of radiation and more chemotherapy.  The first 3 months of chemotherapy produced some promising results and made him a candidate for surgery! The spots on his liver significantly decreased, with one completely going away.  However, because of the areas impacted, and the possibility of reoccurrence, his oncologists and liver specialists determined that he would require multiple surgeries to remove the cancer cells from his liver and the main cancer spot near his colon. The liver surgery, which is first, will take place Thursday, November 10th in the morning. I will post on this site to provide updates on his recovery, which could be anywhere from 4-8 days in the hospital, followed by 6-8 weeks of recovery. Chris has tried to remain positive throughout this journey and has relied heavily on prayer and recovery. We know that this process will only get tougher in the coming months, but we remain focused and confident that God will guide his care team through removing and eliminating the cancer.
