Chris Gainey

My name is Chris Gainey. I am 13 years old, and I have Cerebral Palsy. A little after my 13th birthday party, I began having seizures that ended up being pretty sever. They turned into a stroke in the brain stem and I am fighting for my life.   I was intubated and put into a medically induced coma with a fever of 104 early monday. I was transported to McLeod hospital where I remain in a coma.  There have been several ups and downs but still remain in a coma even without sedation.  They have placed a reservoir to relieve some pressure and intend as of right now to do a 2nd shunt to help relieve some of the pressure.  I cannot breath on my own as of right now and require a ventilator to help me.My mother and father are doing all they can, but we know its a long road ahead.  I am a strong, caring, and loving young man that needs help to support me and my family during this hard time. I have yet to meet a stranger that I didn't love and cherish.  I am a firm believer that everyone deserves a chance and everyone should be loved.
