Chris and I wanted to start this site to keep our friends and family up to date on what is going on in Chris's world. As many of you know, he has Early Onset Alzheimer's disease. He wanted it kept quiet for a long time, but I finally rebelled. I started writing this in March and am just now making it public. He has moved from home care to a memory care facility and is thriving there. He will not read the site, but I will pass on greetings from all who leave one. His care facility accepts visitors and if you want to call him there I can get you his phone number if you ask me. I won't publish it because this is the internet. He is about a 6-minute drive away, so he can come home for lunch or check out the work the arborists did on the trees. He enjoys visitors and calls. He may be a bit repetitive and some of his stories may not be exactly right. He is still pretty sharp most of the time. He has been showing symptoms for several years and received his diagnosis just before Thanksgiving in 2020., right as he medically retired from work. We are richly blessed to have insurance to afford nice accommodations. It is a relief to us. Hunter and Christopher come home as much as they can and call their father regularly. Hunter. Christopher and I are dedicated to making him feel as loved and comfortable as he progresses. I don't know what other information is helpful, so feel free to ask questions. If you want to be blunt, that's fine--I will answer what I can.
