Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Several months ago I started noticing some sharp pain in my middle right side of my back. Finally after months of dealing with the pain I made a dr. appointment. At first it seemed like my gall bladder but a closer look with an ultrasound showed a mass lesion on my adrenal gland. A C/T scan was done and a biopsy as well. The biopsy told us it is cancer. Adrenal cortical carcinoma or something like that. Very rare. It sounded like a fairly easy surgery would fix the problem. Until the next day. (My 40th birthday) I had an appointment with the oncologist and she told me they overlooked the C/T scan and in fact I have stage 4 lung cancer. That makes things a little more complicated than I was really prepared for. Stage 4 lung cancer is also very rare in a 40 year old person. I will start chemo on September 5th. I have absolute faith it will just be a story to tell when I'm much older but until I get through it, which I will, I'm going to take it easy. I'll try to keep everyone updated through the process.
