Last month I was diagnosed with Uterine cancer. It wasn't a shock, or unexpected - I have been having health issues since November 2019 and it all led up to finding cancer in my body. Many of you know, there is a history of cancer in my family and I have a lot of experience helping in the fight against it... didn't think I'd be fighting my own battle. The first course of action was to remove the cancer by full hysterectomy, which was performed May 22nd. I am recovering from that surgery now, then in a couple weeks do more testing and begin Radiation therapy. My cancer is Stage II, Grade 3 uterine cancer. Overall I am healthy, and for the most part an optimist - though, these days are trying for all of us. I am with Texas Oncology; they are wonderful and experts in everything they do. I am happy with my medical support, and expertise of Oncology. This is an awakening to get healthy and take better care of myself.
