Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Cheryl Scott, long time resident in Readsboro/Whitingham, VT was recently diagnosed with Stage IIIB Lung Cancer. In December she had a "walking pneumonia", follow up chest xrays showed a nodule which needed further imaging. A CT scan was obtained and then a Pet Scan. A Pet Scan showed cancer but she required a biopsy to confirm type. A Bronchoscopy was performed but unfortunately was not conclusive. We then headed to St. Peter's for Cheryl to have a Mediastinosopy. Several nodes were biopsied and confirmed a Squamous cell cancer. Surgery is  not an option because there is too much disease. We met with Oncologist Charlene Ives and a plan for treatment will finally begin. Currently she is being stage IIIB. There is a spot on her left lung that did not light up on Petscan but a spot that will be watched (if something changes this would make her stage IV) A tumor board met last week and would like for Radiation to be considered.
