Welcome to our CaringBridge website.
In anticipation of upcoming Bypass Heart Surgery, a CT scan of Cheryl's chest was performed on 01/13/17. This was simply a routine preliminary "road map" for the Doctor so he would be aware of all the stents, etc. The radiologist found a dominant mass in the right upper lobe with extensive mediastinal adenopathy, as well as liver masses consistent with metastatic disease. Cheryl's Primary care physician was informed and then in turn informed her of the shocking news.
January 19, 2017 Cheryl met with the Oncology group at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic cancer masses of the liver and right lung. Due the placement of the masses, they are considered inoperable. Radiation is not an option, chemotherapy will most likely be the plan of treatment.
