I thought that turning 70 would be the most dramatic thing to happen to me in 2019.  “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!” As it turns out, God had more interesting things for me to consider than worrying about the Big 7-0!

For many months I had been wrestling with stomach and back pains.  After a number of scans and tests, ordered by my new gastroenterologist, Dr. Randy Yanda, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  While this came as a surprise, I am extremely thankful that it was caught earlier than most pancreatic cancers.

All the stars have aligned to provide me with the best possible care at Emory Winship Cancer Center under Dr. Shishir Maithel, my Oncology Surgeon, and Dr. Christina Wu, my Medical Oncologist.  I am blessed to have such skilled cancer specialists taking care of me right here in Atlanta!

The last month and a half has been a whirlwind of activity with numerous tests, scans, lab work, and doctor appointments.  Once again, I have been blessed to have immediate attention to all the details of dealing with this disease.

Speaking of blessings, I count you, my friends and family, as part of the amazing support system helping to guide me through this life-changing event.  I appreciate all of your words of encouragement on this journey.

I hope this Caring Bridge site helps to keep you informed...all in one place...that makes it easy for me and my family to update.  I love hearing from you!  Thanks for your love, support and prayers!
