We arrived back in St Louis Thursday evening and we are staying at the Parkway hotel. It is connected to the hospital with an enclosed walkway. On Friday Cheryl had the procedure inserting a central line in her chest. It's been interesting for her to take a shower without getting it wet! We are staying here for the weekend as she has to be at the hospital about 5:00 am for surgery on Monday morning. We are expecting about a 12 hour surgery so Monday will be a long day. Thanks for caring and I will post more after the surgery. Richard
It's Monday morning and cheryl's reconstructive back surgery has started. They began about 8 am and expect the first part of the surgery to take about 4 hours. They went in on her front side to work on her spine from the inside. Next they will open her spine from the back, straighten her spine and attach the two rods with screws. That part may take up to 8 hours. It will be a long day for her.
