About 3 months ago I changed primary care doctors. During my 1st visit she told me I had microscopic blood in my urine. I had that for years and no one ever did anything about it. This doctor sent me to a urologist. He ordered a ct scan. The next day I get a call saying a mass was found. 2 days later I am in the urologist's office where he tells me they have discovered a 6mm mass in the part of my kidney near the ureter that was either a blood clot or cancer. He ordered a biopsy and a few days later Nick drove me to the hospital for a biopsy.
The doctor found the mass and said it looked like low grade transitional cell carcinoma in my left kidney. The pathologist confirmed. I was sent to another urologist who said the treatment of choice is removal of the kidney and ureter. He would be willing to laser out the mass, but would need biopsy the site every 3 months and may need to remove it in the future.
I have an appointment at the best cancer center in Colorado on Thursday. Nick will be with me and we will see what the experts say.
This is not going to do me in, it is just going to be an annoyance for awhile.
