I remember writing on Caring Bridge during my husband's illness in 2012.  I never dreamed I would someday be doing one for myself but here I am. This will serve 2 purposes. I have such a large family and so many friends this will save me hours in giving updates.  I also find writing healing and I can use that right now.

I have been undergoing some tests the past few weeks.    At my oncology appointment September 19th I received a bit of bad news.  The Dr. was pretty sure I had a type of leukemia called CLL.  He wanted more tests to see if any organs were involved yet. He told me not to worry too much because even though it was not curable it was very treatable. It seemed to explain my weight loss and tiredness. It's a kind of tired I can't explain.

I had scans from my neck to my knees. He was concerned about my liver and spleen.  I went back to see him Tuesday the 26th.  The news this time was really not good.  I have a mass in the  lower lobe of my left lung and also lymph involvement.  He wrote orders for biopsies of the lung mass  and lymph glands.  He also ordered a brain scan to make sure it has not spread there too.  I had the brain scan today and hope to have the biopsies Monday.  I have an appointment to see him again Thursday October 5th.  That's when I will find out what type of cancer it is and just how far it has spread.

I have tried to keep my immediate family in the loop as I find out things.  It is difficult because I am so far away.    It's my hope this site will make it easier on everyone.
