Chelsea Everett

In August about a week before 9 year old Chelsea started 4th grade this year,  Chelsea woke up with a swollen eye lid.  What was originally thought to be a sinus infection was diagnosed as a very rare cancer, alveolar rhabdomayosaromca high risk, stage 4.   Since this is a rare cancer, we are thankful that one of the few physicians in the world that treat this type of rare cancer is located at MD Anderson.    Chelsea underwent an immediate biopsy, extensive testing and has begun daily chemo, radiation and blood transfusions at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  Last week, due to treatment, Chelsea lost her hair, something that is unimaginable for most all of us, especially a 9 year old girl.  Chelsea knows that God made her beautiful inside and out and so we are encouraging her to focus on her wonderful sweet inside beauty and gorgeous eyes now.   Chelsea's mother, Michelle Everett, is a divorced single mother and the sole provider for Chelsea.  Michelle has always been a fulltime hardworking employee, but has  not been able to return to work since the daily trips and inpatient stays that Chelsea is currently experiencing.   In order for Michelle to be able to retain their medical insurance through her job while she is driving Chelsea daily to MD Anderson for treatment, she must pay the premiums and still pay their regular monthly bills and food,  in addition to the enormous medical bills that are building.   Chelsea's uncle has set up a gofundme page for Chelsea to assist in these expenses.   Chelsea's cancer treatment requires daily trips Monday through Friday to MD Anderson where just parking fees are $15.00 per day.  These are long exhausting days for Chelsea and Michelle, generally beginning at 6:00 am until 4:00 pm.   Cards of encouragement, meals, food and gas gift cards are welcomed, appreciated and needed and are being coordinated through Sandy Bolton (sandyLbolton@gmail.com) and Lisa Bruno (lisabruno2@hotmail.com).  We appreciate and covet your prayers, encouragement and any assistance for Chelsea as she fights this battle with the strength of our mighty God.  Please check in on Chelsea and leave her notes of encouragement and prayers, as updates will be posted as our Great Physician accompanies Chelsea, her family and friends on this current path.   God bless you for joining her page and praying for her healing.    Chelsea has a gofund me account that has been set up, please visit the link attached under the how to help tab.
