It started out as a sore back attributed to "nursing awkwardly" with 4-month old Ella, but when it wasn't getting better with PT, an MRI discovered a tumor in Rachelle’s spine that was causing the debilitating pain. A bone biopsy from the end of December came back and confirmed metastatic squamous-cell cancer and a CT scan revealed nodules in her lung and enlarged lymph nodes. On 12/30/2020 Rachelle was diagnosed on with stage 4 lung cancer.
They have never been ones to ask for thoughts and prayers, but we'll take any form of good vibes and love you can send her way. This site will be the place to allow friends/family/loving strangers(?) from near and far to stay updated and help however we can.
