History: on Oct. 4th, Mike was having dizzy spells and black out symptoms and the next morning he woke with blurred vision and I drove him to the clinic in Carpinteria where they performed all the necessary tests and came up with nothing conclusive. He was told to take a baby aspirin and to schedule an MRI and a stress test so we did. Mike had another dizzy spell on Friday morning the 7 th before hIs MRI where I met him and he seemed happy and fine. He went home and walked our dog, Daisy but had another episode and when he walked in the door, he couldn't speak. I was not home yet and the girls called 911 while trying to calm him down.
Diagnosis: Mike had a series of mini strokes like mini spray clots. Mikes heart is perfect and his brain ultrasound was normal so the doctors did not know what was causing the strokes. They did a body scan for other clues and found a 1 1/2 cm mass in his left lung and a large lymph node in the area. Adeno carcinoma is the preliminary diagnosis after the biopsy.
Current condition: His speech is impaired, his right cheek is droopy and his right hand isn't fully functional but he is walking perfectly and communicating fairly well.
