Charles Lemon A RT's Road to New Lungs!

Welcome to my  CaringBridge website. I am using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   This is my journey towards getting a double lung tranplant and a triple heart by-pass.  I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency in 2013 and COPD.  My lung fuction has slowly decreased to 25% lung capacity and in December of 2019 I started the pre-eval process for a lung transplant.  During my evaluation it was discovered that I will also need a triple heart bypass on top of a double lung transplant.  I was officially approved for lung transplant and placed on the wait list March 23, 2021.  Now my journey begins waiting for that call to go to Boston Brigham and Women's Hospital for the transplant.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
