Chandler was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the end of May. Since then he has been going through testing to determine if it was malignant or benign. Fortunately it appears to be a meningioma which is typically a benign tumor. Surgery is scheduled at Vanderbilt medical center at 8 AM on Friday, June 16.
On May 4, 1982, Chandler was born and a few hours later we found ourselves at Vanderbilt medical center making a life-and-death decision. With a heart defect as complex as Chandler had they said even with surgery he probably wouldn't live past age two. But with God's grace and and guidance we were lead to a surgeon named Dr. Puga at Mayo clinic where he had two complex surgeries done at ages 9 and 10 to reconstruct his heart. He is 35 and is truly one of God's miracles.
So now with this new challenge we will rely on God's grace to guide the physicians and nurses who will be caring for Chandler. We ask for your prayers for Chandler, the surgeon and us through this trying time. His cardiac complications make this 7 hour surgery a higher risk procedure but the surgeon has made arrangements to account for that with Chandler's cardiac team. He is already a miracle child of God and we have faith he will continue God's purpose for him on this earth longer still. May God bless you all. Thank you
