Welcome to Cesar & the DeLaCruz family CaringBridge website. On Monday, October 10, 2022 Cesar was on his way to work as a passenger with his friend, co-worker and boss, Bob, and started experiencing pain in his jaw and shoulder blade. Shortly thereafter he lost consciousness. Bob's quick thinking rerouted them to the closest hospital in Olympia Fields. It was there that many things were ruled out and a diagnosis of pericarditis was diagnosed. He was treated there for that and released on Wednesday.

On their way home from the hospital,  Cesar started having alarming new symptoms accompanied with a large amount of pain. Jessica pulled over and they realized he wasn't able to feel or bare weight on one leg. From there they rerouted to Mercy in Aurora where he was diagnosed with a dissected aortic aneurysm. Because of the severity of his situation, he was taken by helicopter to Loyola in Maywood for immediate surgery. He had a small bump in the road after surgery where they had to go in and close one small spot up and get his medicine right to control his blood pressure, but for now, he is stable. We will post updates as they are available.

We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place as Cesar heals and the family navigates caring for him during this time. They are so thankful for the outpouring of support and prayers for Cesar. You will truly never know the depth of the comfort each of you bring.

We appreciate your prayer and support for the entire DeLaCruz and extended  family during this time. Thank you for visiting.
