If you know Cathy, you likely love her for her spunky personality.  She is one of a kind!  She is a mom of two boys, a wife to her very caring husband Joe, and was a Special Education teacher and administrator for many years.
Cathy has been on a tough health journey for the last few years.  It started with Breast Cancer in 2016 and after a few significant surgeries, chemo and radiation - she recovered and got back to life.
In 2019, Cathy had a seizure.  Testing showed that the cancer spread to her brain - and brain tumors started developing.    She went though surgery to remove the tumor, additional treatments,  and months in rehab - and came out of it - and again got back to life.   In 2021, Cathy could tell something was off - she started having  seizures again.  The brain tumor had returned.  Another surgery, more rehab, another tumor, another surgery, lots of cancer treatments,  and more rehab.  Cathy spent October 2021-May 2022 in different rehab facilities trying to get back to a point that she could go home and be safe and independent and live with her boys, the lights of her life.  During this time, she lost the use of the right side of her body.  She also has expressive aphasia-making word finding and expressing thoughts difficult for her.
Now there is another tumor. Insurance has decided rehab wasn't working, and Cathy went home.
This poor girl has been through hell and back.  She is now at home with family and requires assistance with her daily life.

Her husband Joe took almost a full year off caring for her - but recently had to go back to work  (to keep his job and their health insurance to maintain Cathy's care).   They have hired assistance to come into the home to care for Cathy while Joe is away.  The cost of this care is exorbitant on a family with one income and 2 busy boys who are on the go.

If you are looking to help Cathy and Joe there are a couple things you can do.

1. Monetary help at this time for the home health aide and medical bills would be very appreciated!  You can use the gofundme linked above in the "ways to help" choice, or send directly to Cathy's husband Joe
