In May of 2015 I started noticing that my hands weren't working well and it started to take longer to do basic things, like get dressed or pick up grocery bags.

In June of 2016 I was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's Disease (PD).

On August 1, 2017 I will undergo Deep Brain Stimulation surgery to have a "brain pacemaker" implanted to help reduce my reliance on medication, even out my symptoms across the day, and hopefully allow me to anticipate and plan around my symptoms better.

There is so much more to this story and my experience but I've only just recently felt clear headed enough to feel comfortable talking about it.

I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful support system in place with friends around the world. I'm also guilty of totally blind siding a number of friends who I haven't caught up with in a while. That has everything with me not knowing what to say, how to say it, or even where to begin .

So here we are. Welcome to my CaringBridge page! My goal with this site is to find a way to stay connected and find support in my virtual community.

CaringBridge is a nonprofit social network dedicated to helping family and friends communicate with and support loved ones during a health journey. Learn more about CaringBridge.
