Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.We created this web sight so that we could update the tremendous amount of caring family members and friends that have reached out with love and offers of help and concern for Cassidy. As most of you know on Tuesday evening January 5th, 2016, our beautiful Cassidy began her courageous journey to recovery from a stroke. She is making good progress and is working very hard to recover as quickly as possible. Cassidy is very strong and very determined so we have every confidence that she will recover fully. We have to take it very slowly to prevent more strokes. Cassidy is a patient in the University of Iowa medical center Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. In Iowa City, Iowa . Cassidy will be in intensive care until the risks of further strokes and brain swelling have passed. They are going to try getting her into a sitting position and do a swallow test to ensure she can start eating food without choking risk. There won't be any more tests done today as the results would not change the course of treatment at this point. She is doing well today and has shown definite signs of improvement. She is exhausted from the constant question and activities designed to test her status. We are hoping she gets some much needed rest today to aid in her recovery.thank you all for your outpouring of love and prayers. We are so great full. God is working in her
