I will add more to this section later, but I wanted to share one way God began to prepare my heart for this time.  A few days before we headed to the ER I heard "Be Still My Soul" by Kari Jobe on Pandora.  I quickly downloaded the song and listened again and again.  God has always used music (especially hymns) to minister truth to my heart.  The lyrics often ran through my head during our hospital stay.  


Be still my soul the Lord is on thy side
Bear patiently this cross of grief or pain
Leave to thy God to order and provide
In every stage He faithful will remain
Be still thy soul thy best thy heavenly friend
Thru thorny ways leads to joyful end
