If you know Carolyn, you know she is not a fan of the cold. Since her husband Bill went to be with our Lord, she has been doing the snow bird thing, heading to Florida to avoid the fridge Midwest climate. This year she did make it once again to the warm weather, but the trip has not been the typical fun in the sun, lunch at the beach and dinner sunsets.

On Saturday January 19th she was admitted to AdventHealth Celebration Hospital in Celebration Florida. She was weak and had shortness of breath and her color was just not right. (Truth be told, she had not felt well for several months, sorry mom, just want to be honest). She was admitted immediately and placed in ICU. Her heart rate was elevated, blood pressure was high, and her lungs only had approximately 20% capacity. The doctors and nurses were surprised she could walk at all.

Its now Saturday, January 26, 2019, one week later. She has been moved to a private room. She has been poked and prodded and had many procedures over the past week to better understand what is going on with her body. We are waiting for the oncologist to show up this morning and give us his report. We are being told he is the lead and will be able to give us the most information.

Some of the info we currently understand, she has been having fluid buildup around her lungs and now her abdomen. They have found a tumor on her colon and it is rather large (5-7 centimeters, about the size of a tennis ball for those of us who are visual or don’t use the metric system to often). This tumor is creating some obstruction in her colon. From what we can understand, the lesions on her liver may be the largest concern. It also appears that the problem started at her colon and has spread to her liver. We are not sure yet if any other areas have been affected.

At the current time, this is about as much as we all know. She is attempting to rest but she is in pain and restless. We will update this page as we learn more.   Please continue to send prayers. Thank you all for your love and support.
