Carol Myren

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support, prayers, and words of hope and encouragement more than you know! 
Carol, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, friend....she goes by many names and is loved by all.  Carol was feeling "off" for a few months, and went to the doctor a couple of times but nothing was found.  She went to the emergency room with some unique symptoms on October 15th, so the team decided to do a CT scan. This uncovered a lesion on her liver and led to many doctor appointments, MRIs, bone scan, PET scan, and a biopsy. 
After all the testing, Carol was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer.  This is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that forms in bile ducts and has spread to her liver. If left untreated it can quickly spread to other organs, but treatment can slow the progression.  She has decided to act swiftly and follow the recommendation of her oncology team to undergo chemotherapy.
