Caroline Moore attempted to sit in a hammock on Sunday afternoon 7/1 when a tree that was holding the hammock collapsed, struck her, and broke her neck at C6 resulting in spinal cord damage. At that moment she suffered paralysis from the neck down. Additional injuries included three broken ribs. Surgery to stabilize her spine took place that Monday morning. On Wednesday morning Caroline had additional surgery for decompression and increased stabilization of the spine. In addition to this surgery, she received an injection as part of a double blind study that may serve to improve her situation. Sixteen days after her accident, Caroline traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where she is currently undergoing rehabilitation at The Shepherd Center. Caroline and her family (parents, Chuck & Kathy, brothers, Charles & Matthew, and her fiance, Scott Brodmann), are so grateful for your much needed prayers. They continue to be thankful for all the love and support offered.
Please note, the Moore family is not accepting monetary donations. Any request for money is being made by the CaringBridge website. The Moores and Brodmanns are so appreciative of your love, prayers, and friendship.
