On Wednesday, Dec 7, I learned that I have colon cancer. I had been having some pain in my left side, so my doctor set me up for a colonoscopy. The tumor nearly blocks the entire descending colon on my left side. The doctor said it was difficult to get the instrument past the obstruction, but he was eventually able to complete the entire examination. We have an appointment with a Christian surgeon on Monday the 12th and they are trying to get me scheduled next week as soon as possible, hopefully Wednesday, but Operating Room availability is the determining factor. It will require a colon resection, where they'll cut out the bad area of the colon and reconnect the good ends. I cherish your prayers for both Dennis and myself. God is in control of the entire process, and we look forward to the Hand of the Great Physician. We will provide updates here as we learn more.
