On Tuesday, January 29th, Carol went into urgent care for help with flu-like symptoms. Several tests were done and on February 1st, they were able to make the diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

More information about this type of leukemia can be found here: https://www.cancer.gov/types/leukemia/patient/adult-aml-treatment-pdq/

She started chemotherapy almost immediately at the U of M hospital in Minneapolis, where she has been since she received the diagnosis.

As you can imagine this is a very scary and uncertain time for Carol's entire family. Tyler has been trying to get some hours in at work and Carol's siblings and parents have been very helpful taking the kids to and from school and daycare.

They are learning new information daily and after the first round of chemo, more tests will be able to point them to the next right step. At this time Carol and Tyler aren't answering "big questions" because there are still so many uncertainties.

More information about how you can help is coming soon. In the meantime, please keep the entire family in your prayers. This is a good place to leave comments for Carol and Tyler so they can answer back when time and energy allows.
