Carol was having abdominal pain, followed by swelling and feeling poorly. We finally reached the stage of having to do something to find out what the heck was going on. A trip to the ER ( sept 10) at HFS yielded more than we wanted to know. The CT scan showed fluid and other changes concerning for cancer, probably from the ovaries. We will find out tomorrow. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday the 13th in the afternoon.

Everything happened just since Sunday. We have been running around like mad people the last 2 days with doctors and lawyers and such. It's amazing how much this kind of thing changes your life. We had been planning an overseas trip; now we are planning for surgery, chemo and a significant change in our future. We have no idea what the outcome will be. Like everyone else, we place ourselves in hands of the doctors and nurses caring for us. God will guide them and us. You, our friends, are very important to both Carol and I. We have a paucity of information at this moment, but we will share what we can when we can. Please know if we don't answer the phone, we are not ignoring you! Texting is better, as we are less likely to cry. We are still getting used to this new phase of life and count ourselves lucky to have friends and family supporting us. Thank you for your care and concern.
