Hello family and friends.  On Friday morning, April 13, Carmen was admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas. She had traveled there to meet Jason and friends for the weekend.  She had been sick the week prior with a bad cough, but was seen by a doctor prior to leaving, had some medicine and was looking forward to some sunshine.  Upon arrival in Vegas her sickness got worse, so she went to urgent care and then to the hospital for a chest x-ray.  After more tests, she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia.  The last two days have been challenging, Last night, she was intubated and put on a ventilator.  They are working to get her lungs cleared, oxygenation levels up, heart rate down and blood pressure stabilized.  Her kidneys are still struggling, and blood pressure remains low, so the doctors have now run a central IV to do continuous dialysis on her kidneys.  Her vitals have improved just as of the last hour or so.  Still need her blood chemistry to improve.  The antibiotics and dialysis should help that.

It goes without saying that things are serious and Carmen came in very very sick.  Jason wanted to create this site, so family and friends can go to one central place for updates.  Please keep Carmen in your thoughts and prayers and please feel free to post comments here.  Jason or someone on his behalf will continue to post updates on Carmen’s condition.  She is so very loved and she is a fighter!  Keep fighting, Carmen!
