May 11, 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. I found the cancer from colonoscopy. After several scans and tests doctors discovered the cancer had metastasized into my liver. I had 4 tumors in my liver and one in my rectum. My oncologist told me I have had stage four, for several years. I was even able to give birth to my son while having stage 4 cancer. I began chemo therapy in June 2016 and will continue chemo until May 2017. Between June 2016 and March 2017 I have had 5 surgeries, 7 rounds of chemo, 5 rounds of radiation and lots of love and prayers! Today I am cancer free! My CT scan saw no sign of any tumors. I'm currently had to stop chemo because I became sick with a cold which turned into an infection. With antibiotics and care from my husband, mom and the Simon cancer center I'm getting much stronger. I will start chemo again next month, and in June I will have surgery to remove my ileostomy bag. My husband had cancer 2 years ago and is healthy, he has taken care of our family. I'm grateful for all the love and support friends and family have given us. I'm confident I will be cured from this horrible disease and help others cope. Thank you for reading my story. Love, CB XO
