On Tuesday August 30th I received a diagnosis of Stage 3 Mantle Cell Lymphoma from a General Practitioner. On Friday September 2nd I had my first visit with my Oncologist. There I received so much information that it was almost impossible to take it all in. Fortunately they had printed handouts with the same information. That day they scheduled four Doctor Visits for things like bone marrow biopsy and echo cardiograms. Things that are needed to further define where I am with this disease. They also told me that I would start Chemo Therapy the week of September 12th.
I will try and keep a running journal here to describe where I am in my path to getting better. As I get the results of tests and appointments I will discuss them here. At last Fridays Oncologist appointment I learned that Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) is a treatable condition. No guarantees that I will see the same results as others just that the odds are high that my MCL can be brought to remission.
